Daughter Stole Jewelry From Mother, JCSO Says

Johnston County sheriff’s detectives have arrested a 21 year-old woman for allegedly stealing jewelry from her own mother.  On October 21st, the victim reported her daughter had visited her Clayton-area home. During the visit, Alexandra Benitez-Flores, 21, of Coharie Drive, Wendell allegedly stole $6,500 in jewelry. The stolen items included a $4,000 gold chain and $200 Rosary and cross.

Deputies said they determined Benitez-Flores pawned the stolen jewelry a short time later at different pawn shops.

On October 26th, Benitez-Flores was located at an apartment in Durham and arrested on warrants charging her with felony larceny and felony conspiracy.  She was held on a $15,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Jail.  The stolen jewelry was recovered and returned to the victim.
