Deputies Find Cocaine, 5 Year-Old Inside Car During Traffic Stop

A Johnston County Sheriff’s Office K-9 alerted on a car stopped for a routine traffic violation.  The alert led officers to approximately $5,600 worth of illegal narcotics.

At 10:40am last Thursday, a deputy sheriff stopped a car on Keen Street near Keen Road in the Four Oaks city limits.  Authorities said Byron Keith Lee, 41, of Turon Road, Louisburg, NC was operating the car. Amber Michelle Lee, 26, of Louisburg and a 5 year-old child were passengers in the car.

A narcotics K-9 reportedly alerted on the vehicle.  A subsequent search of the car led officers to 55.9 grams of suspected cocaine and 2 grams of marijuana with a potential street value of approximately $5,600.

Byron Lee was charged with trafficking in cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.  His bond was set at $500,000.

Amber Lee was charged with conspiracy to sell or deliver cocaine. Bond was set at $10,000.
