A 17 year-old Clayton teen is facing five felony charges following an early morning crime spree on Jack Road outside of Clayton.
Around 4:00am Thursday, someone attempted to break into three vehicles in the 3300 block of Jack Road. They were successful in entering a fourth vehicle that was stolen and driven away.
A short time later a resident on McKoy Drive outside of Smithfield called to report a suspicious vehicle parked near their home. When they arrived, deputies said they found the stolen vehicle parked in the roadway and the suspect, Renso Diaz Galvan of Jack Road, asleep in the vehicle.
Galvan was charged with three felony counts of attempted larceny and one felony count of larceny of a motor vehicle. The teen was also linked to a break-in at a storage barn Thursday morning on Jack Road.
Galvan was incarcerated under a $70,000 secured bond.
