Deputies Respond To Break-In, Arrest Two People On Drug Charges

SELMA – Two Johnston County residents were arrested after a homeowner called the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office saying two people were trying to steal his lawnmower.

Around 5:30am Sunday, June 19, deputies were dispatched to a home in the 7500 block of NC Highway 42 East. Officers arrived and located the two individuals still at the address.

During a search of their truck, two small bags containing suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was reportedly located.

Brian Lewis Brinkley, 28, of Hinnant Edgerton Road, Selma and Amber Nicole Strickland, 30, of Fox Ridge Road, Clayton were charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were held on $6,000 secured bonds.

The break-in remains under investigation.
