Disagreement Led To Burglary And Shooting, JCSO Says

WILLOW SPRING ā€“ A dispute between neighbors turned violent. One suspect was arrested and the victim is recovering from minor injuries.

On Feb. 4 around 11:38am , the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lola Drive, off Dupree Road in the Willow Spring community.

Lewis Stanley Leach, 74, allegedly began arguing with his 63 year-old neighbor over their shared mailbox when Leach entered the victim’s camper and discharged a handgun.

The gun was not pointed at the victim when it was allegedly fired.

Leach was charged with breaking and entering to terrorize or injure and discharing a firearm into occupied property.

The victim sustained a minor injury during the altercation.
