A Selma woman was arrested after authorities said she fled from a license checkpoint Tuesday in Johnston County.
Sheriff’s Office SAFE Team deputies were conducting a checking station on Highway 96 North at Jordan-Narron Road when a SUV stopped in the roadway prior to the checkpoint. The SUV began to back up then speed away from officers. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver was arrested after the pursuit ended a short distance away on Highway 42.
Donielle Donna-Saye Tedder, 28, of Trails End Drive was charged with fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving, and driving on a revoked license.
Tedder allegedly told officers she panicked and didn’t stop because she didn’t have a license. She was released on a $2,500 bond.
