A 40 year-old man is facing a long list of charges after he reportedly led law enforcement officers from two different agencies on brief pursuits.
Saturday night, Selma Police attempted to stop a black Cadillac but the driver refused to pull over. After a brief chase the driver got away.
Later that evening, a Johnston County deputy was traveling on Highway 50 near Benson and spotted the Cadillac involved in the Selma police pursuit.
The deputy tried to stop the vehicle but the driver accelerated to speeds up to 120 miles per hour in a 55mph zone. After a brief pursuit, the driver was apprehended.
Amos Lamont Bennett, 40, of Sue Drive, Angier was arrested on multiple charges including two counts of fleeing to elude arrest, two counts of driving on a revoked license and two counts of speeding.
The Cadillac was seized under the NC Run and You’re Done Law.
