Two Johnston County men were arrested during a routine traffic stop early Saturday morning. A Johnston County deputy stopped a pickup truck for a traffic violation on Benson-Hardee Road outside of Benson.
During a search of the truck, sheriff’s deputies reportedly found suspected cocaine in the possession of the driver, Kyle William Morgan, 31, of the 1200 block of Massengill Pond Road, Angier.
The passenger, Richard Jose Rojas Jr., 27, of Amy Lane, Benson allegedly had cocaine, heroin, 19 grams of marijuana, used hypodermic needles, digital scales and drug paraphernalia in his possession and in his backpack.
Morgan was charged with felony cocaine possession and confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $7,500 bond.
Rojas was charged with felony possession of heroin, felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $25,000.
