JCSO: Driver And Passenger Switch Seats During Traffic Stop, Both Go To Jail

BENSON – Two people were arrested by a Johnston County SAFE Team deputy during a traffic stop in southern Johnston County. Around 9:12pm Saturday, Dec. 17, a deputy was on patrol on Adams Road. While using radar the deputy clocked a vehicle traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone.

The officer turned on his blue lights to stop the driver to issue them a speeding citation. Before the car came to a complete stop, authorities said the driver and passenger switched seats.

Harley Marie Wheeler, age 25, of Godwin, NC and Dominique Nicole Wiwatowski, age 28, of Clayton, NC were arrested after a search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine, six Oxycodone pills, a small amount of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Wheeler was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also served with a failure to appear warrant for possession of stolen property.  Bail was set at $10,250.

Wiwatowski was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to 1/2 ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $11,000. 

Deputies said Wheeler was the original driver of the car.

    • Care to elaborate on that one? By all means and do us have a conversation about how it’s our fault our child doing the things she did. Then again why don’t you try using your real name so then maybe we can see what parents and skills you have because I’m sure it ain’t much. Johnson county people are always quick to put their nose where it don’t belong . No you care to elaborate and you know so much you must know where I live come on over we’ll have a cup of tea and talk about it.
