A motorist stopped for speeding on Highway 70 just east of Selma reportedly claimed she was running late for work. A Johnston County SAFE Team deputy was on routine patrol around 8:40pm Sunday, April 25th when he said he spotted a car speeding and also weaving in and out of traffic.
Using his radar, the SAFE Team officer was able to clock the vehicle at 90mph in a 55mph zone. The driver, Yanet Fraire, 22, of Franklin Drive, Smithfield, was reportedly found to have suspected marijuana and a crushed Percocet pill in her possession.
Fraire was charged with speeding, reckless driving, and two misdemeanor drug violations. She was given a $2,500 bond. The Kia Sorento she was driving was towed from the scene.
