A routine traffic stop for a speeding violation led to the arrest of the driver on a felony drug charge.
Around 7:30pm August 7th, a SAFE team deputy was on routine patrol on Honeycutt Road and N. Shadow Lake Drive in the Willow Spring community and stopped a car for a speeding violation.
While approaching the car the officer said he noticed the driver appear to conceal something in his groin area.
The driver, Alton Tyreses McArthur, 27, of Railroad Lane, Angier was searched. During the search a clear bag containing a half gram of suspected crack cocaine was found in his groin area.
McArthur was given a $20,000 bond on a felony charge of possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
