Drugs Found In Woman’s Purse, Pants

Johnston County deputies said they found drugs with a potential street value of more than $2,400 during a traffic stop around 8:00PM Wednesday on Highway 210 near Four Oaks.

A SAFE Team deputy had stopped a Hyundai and had issued the driver a citation for driving on a revoked license.  The officer became suspicious and asked to search the vehicle.

After being given permission to search, suspected methamphetamines was reportedly found in the purse of a passenger, 25 year-old Megan Ryan Brown of the 1500 block of Fire Department Road, Clayton. Additional narcotics was allegedly found in the floorboard near Brown.

Brown was taken to the Johnston County Jail. While being booked into jail, a female detention officer reportedly found three bags concealed inside Brown’s pants. The bags contained powder cocaine, heroin, and more methamphetamines.

Brown was charged with six drug offenses including possession of a controlled substance in jail.  She was held in the Johnston County Jail under a $50,250 bond.
