DWI Suspect Arrested After Being Pulled Over For Speeding 95MPH

A Johnston County SAFE Team deputy arrested a 32 year-old man for speeding and driving while impaired on Highway 70 near Princeton.

The deputy said he was running radar when he clocked a 2000 Toyota Camry traveling westbound at 95mph in a 55mph zone near the Princeton city limits.  The officer stopped the Camry and reportedly found marijuana wax inside the vehicle.

The driver, Preston Junior Garrett of Evans Road, Princeton was charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving to endanger, and simple possession of a controlled substance.  Authorities said a blood sample was taken from Garrett for the DWI charge.

His Toyota was also impounded.
