DWI Suspect Charged With Fleeing To Elude Arrest

An accused drunk driving suspect is facing charges after an incident near Selma. On May 15th at 8:16pm, a Johnston County deputy was on patrol in the 6000 block of Highway 42 East and allegedly observed a motorcycle weaving and tailgating.

The motorcyclist reportedly passed several cars and accelerated to speeds of 90mph. The officer got behind the motorcycle but the driver did not immediately pull over. Eventually the suspect stopped.

Andrew Jerome Lee Jr., 61, of Bunday Circle North, Wilson was charged with driving while impaired, speeding, and fleeing to elude arrest. Authorities said Lee registered 0.12 on the Breathalyzer, higher than the legal limit of 0.08.

Lee was released on bond pending his next court appearance.
