Multiple charges have been filed against a 24 year-old Johnston County man who reportedly led Johnston County deputies on a brief chase along Highway 301.
Kenneth Darnell Farmer of East Street, Smithfield was arrested Saturday night and held on a $70,000 bond.
Around 10:15pm, a deputy was on patrol on Highway 301 South of Four Oaks and reportedly clocked a Hummer traveling northbound at 84mph in a 55mph zone. The officer attempted to stop the SUV but the driver refused to pull over. The chase entered the Four Oaks city limits. On W. Allen Street, the driver stopped.
Farmer was arrested on numerous charges including fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving to endanger, speeding, driving on a revoked license and driving while impaired. The Hummer was seized under the NC ‘Run and You’re Done’ state law.
