Community Health Fair This Saturday

Widow’s Son Lodge #4 will hold their annual community Health Fair this weekend.

On Saturday, March 24th, numerous local agencies and sponsors will provide a fun Health Fair at the Garner Road Community Center located at 2235 Garner Road, Raleigh.

More than 50 organizations are collaborating to offer free health screenings like vision, hearing, blood pressure, and glucose, resource informational booths, important information on insurance and estate planning, CPR demonstrations, and healthy food.

Everyone who participates is eligible to win prizes including smart watches. The health screenings and other activities are for children and adults of all ages. Everything is free of charge.

This is the fourth year the Free Community Health Fair is being hosted by Widow’s Son Lodge #4 and the third year it has been held at the Garner Road Community Center. Last year about 100 people participated in the free health screenings.

A few adults screened last year showed they were prone to a potential stroke and were referred to medical doctors.

As a form of entertainment this year, caricature drawings will be offered free to attendees betweenNoon and 2:00pm.

Lodge members say the goal of the Free Community Health Fair is to provide a day to inspire individuals, families, organizations and communities to focus on the physical and mental health and wellness of themselves and others.
