Ex-Employee Forged Check, JCSO Says

FOUR OAKS – A former employee at a Four Oaks business has been arrested after he allegedly forged and cashed a business check. Ronald Armistead Jones Jr., age 46, of the 12000 block of NC Highway 96 South, Dunn was arrested February 12.

On February 11th, a representative with Lakeside Utilities reported a $186.47 check written on the business account to an individual had been forged and cashed. An investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office reportedly linked Jones, a former employee at the company, with the forgery.

Jones was charged with identity theft, attempting to obtain property by false pretenses, uttering a forged instrument, and larceny of chose in action. He was given a $10,000 bond at the Johnston County Jail.

Officials did not say how Jones was able to obtain the company check.
