A Clayton man is facing several charges after he allegedly stole a cell phone and $400 cash from a friend who had allowed him to stay in his home recently.
Eric James Vorenkamp allegedly stole the items on June 17th while temporarily living with a friend on Canyon Road. Vorenkamp allegedly left taking the victims property.
The stolen cell phone was recovered in Florida.
Vorenkamp was arrested Monday night in Kenly on warrants charging him with felony larceny and felony conspiracy. He was also wanted at this time of his arrest on unrelated charges in Harnett County of domestic assault on a female and interfering with emergency communications. He was given a $26,000 bond.
Johnston County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said additional arrests are anticipated.
