Felon Linked To Four Oaks Store Break-Ins

A convicted felon with prior convictions for robbery and drug possession has been arrested for 4 business break-ins including three in the Four Oaks area.

Kenneth Lamont Parnell Jr., 38, of the 5400 block of Highway 210, Smithfield has been linked to the June 11, 2017 break-in at Barefoot’s Country Store at 3291 US 701 South. He was also linked to two 2017 break-ins at the Safeway convenience store at 9891 NC 210, Four Oaks near Lassiter Road.

According to the NC Department of Corrections (NC DOC) website, Parnell was released from prison in 2008 after serving 32 months behind bars for a 2005 conviction of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

According to the NC DOC, Parnell was on probation for an April 2017 conviction in Sampson County for felony drug possession when he broke into the Four Oaks convenience stores last year.

Parnell was arrested Jan. 3rd on the convenience store break-in charges and confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $210,000 bond.
