Felon On Probation Rearrested On Drug Trafficking And Weapons Charges

CLAYTON – A convicted felon on probation for a prior conviction for possessing cocaine was rearrested following the search of a home on Country Lane outside of Clayton.   Gregory Tobaris Brantley, 38, of Hedgerow Lane, Clayton is currently being held on $850,000 bail.

Late-Friday, probation and parole officers requested the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division to assist with a search.  During the search, 70 grams of powder cocaine, 30 grams of crack cocaine, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, a 12 gauge shotgun with ammunition, and a loaded 357 revolver were allegedly found in Brantley’s possession.

Brantley was charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, felony probation violation, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine.
