A Johnston County teenager allegedly ran through Walmart in an attempt to avoid two Smithfield police officers attempting to place him in handcuffs. The incident happened Sunday.
Police said they received a report a man had exposed his genitals twice, both times to female Walmart employees. When officers arrived, the suspect began running around inside the store to try and elude arrest. Police were able to detain 17 year-old Deshawn Lamont Hodges of Kenly before he could get to an exit door.
After taking Hodges into custody, officers said they found three counterfeit $100 bills in his possession.
Hodges was held on a $15,000 bond at the Johnston County Jail on charges of indecent exposure, resisting and delaying, and possession of counterfeit currency.
