Former Substitute Teacher Arrested

A former substitute teacher for Johnston County Public Schools has been arrested.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office said Gary Donovan Jones, 57, of Hocutt Farm Drive, Clayton was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of soliciting prostitution.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office would not release any additional details about the event due to an ongoing investigation.

Johnston County School officials confirmed Jones was a substitute teacher for the 2017-18 school year. The address of his arrest Wednesday on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh is the location of a hotel.
