A Four Oaks man was arrested after a brief chase that started near South Johnston High School.
A Johnston County SAFE Team deputy was on routine patrol around 5:00pm Tuesday on Hannah Creek Road when he met a silver Dodge Charger traveling close to 80mph. The deputy did a u-turn and caught up with the speeding car. The driver reportedly failed to pull over for the blue lights and siren.
The driver turned onto Kenan Road and eventually stopped.
William Scott Johnson, 26, of the 2400 block of Thompson Road, Four Oaks was charged with speeding 76 in a 55mph zone and fleeing to elude arrest. He was later released from custody on a $3,000 bond.
