A 26 year-old Four Oaks man was arrested Wednesday night at his home. Johnston County deputies responded to an address in the 1400 block of Oliver’s Grove Church Road to serve arrest warrants on Mellie Gene Barbour III. Barbour was wanted by Four Oaks Police on two warrants for obtaining property by false pretenses following a credit card fraud investigation.
Deputies arrived at Barbour’s home around 10:30pm. While at his residence, officers said they spotted in plain sight a bowl filled with syringes and paraphernalia. Some of the syringes contained a liquid. Suspected heroin was located on a spoon. The items allegedly field tested positive for heroin. A small amount of marijuana was reportedly found.
Barbour was arrested on the two felony Four Oaks police warrants. He was charged by deputies with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $15,000 bond on the drug charges plus a $2,500 bond on the two obtaining property by false pretense warrants.
