Friday In National Wear Red Day

JOHNSTON COUNTY – Friday, February 4th is National Wear Red Day. It is designed is to bring awareness to heart disease.  In Johnston County, heart disease is the leading cause of death among men and women.   

Locally, the ALL IN RED campaign encourages Johnston County residents, business owners and visitors to wear red on Friday, February 4th.

Heart disease and stroke ranks among the top five health priorities in Johnston County, according to the 2019 Johnston County Community Heath Needs Assessment Implementation Plan.

All funds raised during the ALL IN RED campaign in Johnston County will benefit local heart patients through the Johnston Health Foundation Heart Fund.

In Smithfield, Mayor Andy Moore and the Smithfield Town Council have proclaimed February 2022 as ALL IN RED month.


  1. I thought Covid was the #1 cause of death? You mean we should be focusing on lowering heart risk which would also lower Covid complication risk? No way should we be doing things besides masking and jabbing that’s crazy talk. (Said with sarcasm of course).
