Fugitive Wanted Since 2017 Apprehended

CLINTON – The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office had captured a man wanted since 2017 on sexual assault charges.  In May 2017, a complaint was filed against Arturo Torres-Pindea for sexual misconduct allegedly involving three juvenile victims.

Warrants were obtained against Torres-Pindea but he was able to avoid apprehension.  Recently, the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office received information that Torres-Pindea was in the Harnett County area.  Working with the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, he was arrested on the outstanding warrants.

Torres-Pindea was charged with first-degree statutory sex offense with a child, crimes against nature, and indecent liberties with a child. He was held on a $1,150,000.
