SMITHFIELD – A missing 15 year-old juvenile more than 700 miles away from her home, along with her alleged abductor, were found together Wednesday night in Smithfield. Police in Chelmsford, Massachusetts had been investigating the disappearance of the juvenile and were reportedly able to trace her cell phone to the parking lot of Walmart at 1299 N. Brightleaf Boulevard.
Around 7:00pm, Smithfield Police were notified and within minutes had located a stolen Honda van in the Walmart parking lot the suspect had allegedly been operating. A short time later the alleged abductor and the girl were found nearby in the parking lot of Grandson’s restaurant.
Marc Anthony Flores, 20, of Framingham, MA was taken into custody and charged with felony abduction of a child and felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
The young girl was turned over to the custody of the Johnston County Department of Social Services until she could be reunited with her family.
Police said the victim and suspect were acquainted, however, no additional details surrounding the alleged abduction were released because the case involves a minor.
Flores was confined in the Johnston County Jail in lieu of a $35,000 secured bond.
