Grandson Charged With Stealing From Widowed Grandmother

A Wilson County man is accused of defrauding his grandmother who lives in Johnston County.

The 65 year-old woman recently lost her husband. Her grandson, William Scott Hocutt, 24, began staying with her after her husband’s death.

Hocutt allegedly stole her debit card and used it at ATM’s in the Archer Lodge and Wendell areas. Each time he would return the card to her home. Only when the bank statement arrived did the victim realized she was missing $760 from her account.

Johnston County Sheriff’s Lt. Don Pate said officers were able to obtain video from the ATM’s showing Hocutt driving his grandmother’s car and using her debit card without her knowledge to make the withdrawals.

Hocutt was charged with four felony offenses including identity theft, financial card theft and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Lmao all over pills… He’s a dead beat father to 3 kids by 2 women which one is me lol. He’s never seen my son but maybe twice. He was hooked on pills so bad he had to steal his grandmas card because he don’t know what a job is. I hope he goes to prison for the rest of his life.
