Grocery Store Employee Accused Of Stealing Money

An employee at a local Food Lion store has been arrested on money theft charges.

The theft was reported Saturday at the Food Lion on Neuse River Parkway off Highway 42 East.

A grocery store manager reported that while reviewing video security footage he reportedly saw an employee, 25 year-old David Philip Turner, remove $100 from a register.

Turner was arrested and charged with felony larceny by an employee. He was later released on a $1,000 secured bond.  The $100 taken from the register was recovered.
