Gunman Linked To Wells Fargo Bank Robbery

A 24 year-old man is being held under a half-million dollar bond following his arrest Wednesday morning for a hold up at the Wells Fargo Bank at 301 East Ash Street in Downtown Goldsboro.

Around 10:00am, the suspect entered the bank, brandished a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money from the teller drawers.

The suspect fled on foot but was detained by Goldsboro police officers on Park Avenue.

Police also said they found a large amount of cash and a handgun in the possession of the suspect identified as Devon Melvin Williams of Denmark Street, Goldsboro.

He was charged with robbery, kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon.

No injuries were reported.
