Harnett Commissioners Seeking Input From Citizens On Countywide Strategic Plan

Survey and Information Sessions Scheduled for October

Harnett County, NC- The Harnett County Board of Commissioners is seeking input from citizens on a countywide strategic plan. The plan will establish County priorities and serve as a roadmap for the County’s departments for the coming years.  The strategic plan will be rooted in a mission to serve the community and will align a vision for the future of Harnett County with actionable strategic goals.

Over the last few months, Harnett County leaders participated in strategic planning workshops, informing the process and the strategic planning framework. The Harnett County Managers and Directors retreat was held in June and the Board of Commissioners retreat was held in August.

The plan is currently in the public and employee engagement phase, where all County employees and citizens are encouraged to complete a survey to provide input on the County’s future.

The citizen survey is available for residents and community stakeholders. It will take about 10 minutes to complete and is confidential. The survey will be active on the County website through Friday, October 29 and can be accessed at this link:   https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HCSPcitizensurvey.

Hardcopies of the survey are also available at each of Harnett County’s public library locations.  A list of library locations may be found at https://harnett.libguides.com/about/locations

Individuals seeking assistance with access to the survey or requesting a translated survey can contact Ashley Bauer at adeans@harnett.org or 910-814-6001.

In addition to the survey, Harnett County is inviting interested citizens to participate in an upcoming strategic planning information session to learn more about the strategic planning process.  Two sessions will be held on the following dates:

During each workshop, citizens will learn more about the strategic planning process and will have opportunities to share their priorities for Harnett County. Each session will cover the same information and citizens will only need to attend one session.
