A Harnett County man was arrested by a Johnston County SAFE Team deputy during a traffic stop. The traffic stop happened at 2:28pm Tuesday on Massengill Pond Road near the intersection of Plainview Church Road outside of Benson.
The deputy stopped a 1996 Mitsubishi that had a fictitious license plate being displayed. The driver, 42 year-old Juan Antonio Ramirez of Highway 27 East, Coats, also had a suspended drivers license. During the traffic stop the deputy said he located a small amount of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe in the vehicle.
Ramirez was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $10,000 at the Johnston County Jail.
