Free Library Cards Available at Local Libraries
September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when local public libraries join the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind parents, caregivers and students that signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning.
This month, Harnett County Public Library is encouraging residents of all ages to get a free library card at any local library in Harnett County. Through access to technology, media resources and educational programs, a library card gives users the tools to succeed in the classroom, while providing people of all ages opportunities to pursue their dreams and passions.
Libraries offer opportunities from early literacy programs to virtual homework help and technology classes and help transform lives and communities through the access of library resources. At public libraries across Harnett County, residents will find a wide variety of educational resources and activities, such as storytimes, book clubs, STEAM programs, and more.
The Harnett County Library System, along with libraries everywhere, continue to adapt and expand services to meet the evolving needs of our community.
During the month of September, Harnett County Libraries will be celebrating National Library Card Sign-Up Month with special promotions and provide FREE replacement cards to users who have misplaced their library cards.
To sign up for a library card or to learn more about the library’s resources and programs, please visit a local library near you or contact Harnett County Public Library at 910-893-3446.
