He Promised To Mow The Yard But Didn’t, Police Say. Now He’s Facing A Felony

A Benson man is facing a felony charge after allegedly shirking landscaping duties at a yard in Wayne County.

Robbie John Morgan, 27, of 1402 Chicopee Road in Benson has been charged with felony conversion and was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $7,500 bond after his arrest Wednesday.

The victim reportedly gave Morgan a lawnmower to start his own landscaping business under the agreement that Morgan would keep the victim’s yard cut, but that was not done, according to Wayne County Detective Sgt. Robert J. Golimowski.

Morgan stated that the lawnmower broke, he took it to get fixed, and did not have the money to get it back, according to a release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

At this time, Morgan does not know what happened to the lawnmower, Golimowski noted in his report.

As a result of the investigation, Morgan converted the lawnmower to his personal use, depriving the victim of his lawnmower and services promised, according to the release.
