High Bonds Set For Smithfield Shoplifting Suspects

Two Wilson women are facing a combined 24 criminal charges after Smithfield Police said they shoplifted clothing items from four businesses.  The items were reportedly stolen from Children’s Place, Nike Factory Store, Levi’s Outlet and the Nautica Outlet on Outlet Center Drive Thursday evening.

Smithfield Police were able to broadcast a description of the vehicle the women were seen leaving in. Selma Police spotted the vehicle minutes later and pulled them over.

Ebony Lashea Perry, 22, and Alexis Shrell Pickett, 22, are accused of removing anti-theft devices on several articles of clothing.  Combined a total of $802.75 in clothing was stolen from the four stores.

Perry and Pickett were both charged with 8 felony counts of larceny by removing an anti-theft device and 4 misdemeanor larceny offenses.  Perry was placed in the Johnston County Jail under a $270,000 bond. Pickett was held under a $240,000 bond.
