Home Invasion And Robbery Suspect Captured Following Manhunt

SELMA – A Wake County man is behind bars accused of committing an armed home invasion and robbery. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the victims appeared to have been randomly targeted.

At 9:23pm Friday, July 1st, two women, ages 21 and 37, were inside their home in the 400 block of Thorne Road when the 41 year-old suspect, armed with a knife and wearing a mask, reportedly entered through the front door and threatened them with the knife. He stole a purse and the keys to a Nissan Pathfinder parked in the driveway.

The suspect fled in the vehicle. One of the victim’s quickly dialed 911.

Responding deputies located the Nissan parked beside the roadway in the 1900 block of Little Divine Road. There was no one inside the vehicle.

A sheriff’s K-9 responded to Little Divine Road and following an extensive manhunt Henry Alexander Morales of N. King Charles Road, Raleigh was apprehended. Morales was charged with first degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery. He was held under a $250,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Jail.

The Nissan, stolen purse and its contents, including cash and a debit card, were recovered.

Authorities said the victims did not know Morales and the home invasion appears to have been a random act. The victims were not physically injured.
