Homeless Man Charged With Breaking And Entering

Smithfield Police have charged a 27 year-old man with breaking and entering into a local business.  Luis Alberto Aviles Rivera was charged March 18th with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny.

According to an arrest report, Rivera was listed as being homeless.

At 1:10am on March 15th, police responded to a burglar alarm at Security Credit at 1710 S. Brightleaf Boulevard.  Officers discovered where a window had been broken and entry had been made. A small undisclosed amount of money was taken. 

Rivera was confined in the Johnston County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
