JCSO: Auto Parts Thief Left Cell Phone Under Church Van

SMITHFIELD –  Three people have been arrested for their alleged role in the theft of a catalytic converter from a church van. On November 2nd, a member of Sardis Baptist Church at 5444 Brogden Road, Smithfield reported a catalytic converter had been removed from a church van in the parking lot.

Deputies discovered a cell phone had been left under the church van reportedly by the suspect. The phone was allegedly linked by sheriff’s deputies to Christopher James Creech of the 13000 block of Covered Bridge Road, Zebulon.  Authorities were also able to link Andrew Ross Euper and his girlfriend, Michelle Lynn Canady, both of Hereford Drive, Dudley to the theft.

Creech was arrested Nov. 24th in Johnston County and held on a $20,000 secured bond.  Euper and Canady were arrested that same day by Beaufort County sheriff’s deputies in Washington, NC.   Euper received an $8,000 bond. Canady was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond at the Beaufort County Jail.
