JCSO Seeking To Identify Individual Following Incident At Church

KENLY – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public. Authorities have released a photo of a person wanted for questioning in an incident reported at Holly Springs Freewill Baptist Church, located at 80 Beulahtown Road, Kenly.

Around 4:30pm Friday, May 5th, the individual reportedly went to the church and banged on a side door several times. The man then climbed a flight of stairs that is a fire escape. Once at the top, the person was able to enter a door and get inside the church.

The person made his way downstairs where a woman and her daughter were cleaning the church. The person startled the women and they asked him to leave. The man refused to leave through an entry door. Instead he went back to the top of the church and exited through the fire escape.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office would like to question the individual in the photo about the incident. He may have been operating a silver two door pickup.

Anyone who recognizes this individual is asked to contact Detective B. Britt at 919-989-5000. Callers may remain anonymous.

    • When churches dont have to pay taxes I would hope they could afford to have quality security.

      • So thankful they don’t have to pay taxes, since it’s after-tax dollars that are donated to the church to keep it up and running. How much is $1 earned actually taxed in this country- it’s staggering!
