A Four Oaks man was arrested and jailed under a $100,000 bond after his arrest on drug violations and outstanding warrants.
Around 8:20pm Friday, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Terry Scott Jones at his home in the 8000 block of Strickland’s Crossroads Road.
When an officer arrived, Jones wasn’t at home but he was spotted walking nearby. The deputy ordered Jones to stop but he fled on foot. Following a lengthy foot chase, the officer was able to tackle Jones.
The suspect reportedly reached into his pockets and refused to remove his hands. The officer ordered Jones to remove his hands but he refused. During a struggle, Jones was able to break free from the officer and flee a second time. As Jones reached into his pockets again, the deputy tasered Jones.
A second deputy arrived on the scene and both officers were able to place handcuffs on the 29 year-old suspect.
Jones was wanted on two counts of failing to appear in court on out-of-county probation violation charges. He was also charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
The officers and suspect were not injured.
