Johnston County Health Department Continues Efforts To Make COVID-19 Vaccine Accessible To All

Johnston County Health Department and National Guard set up mobile vaccination clinic at Woodall Heights community in Smithfield, NC.

SMITHFIELD – With vaccination rates slowing across the nation, the Johnston County Health Department has transitioned from an earlier approach of mass vaccination clinics, to reaching out to the community and bringing the COVID-19 vaccine directly to County residents.

Earlier this week the Health Department, with assistance from the Army National Guard, set up a mobile vaccination clinic at the Woodall Heights community in Smithfield. After administering second dose vaccinations to two previously scheduled patients, the Health Department team went door-to-door to offer the vaccine to residents that were interested. This is just one of many examples of community outreach that has become a staple of the Johnston County Health Department.

“DHHS has a social vulnerability index map and we’ve used that to guide our clinics and community outreach approach,” said Erin Smith, Family Nurse Practitioner for the Johnston County Health Department.

Transportation has also been a key component of the County’s vaccination efforts.

“From the beginning we’ve partnered with JCATS transportation service to assist with getting people to and from the Health Department to get their vaccine.  We are partnering with local EMS for homebound delivery of vaccines and we’ve reached out to our Health Department patients including low income, uninsured and underinsured individuals. Our strategies have changed from when we were doing mass clinics but our resolve and effort are still the same,” Smith said.

  1. The VID (aka the CCP Virus) has a higher than 99.9% survival rate without the vaccine, as per the CDC. I’ll take my chances. Trust the science, right? LOL

    • Yes, I trust all the science in the world that says that your numbers are literal nonsense. Do you seriously believe that? Don’t get the vaccine if you don’t want to, but don’t go crying if you do get the virus. Maybe then you’ll learn to be smart.

  2. I’m all for your rights. You have the right not to get vaccinated, your have the right to get the virus, you have the right to get sick from the virus, you have the right to pay the bills if you get sick from the virus. You even have the right to die from the virus. But there’s on thing you DO NOT have the right to do and that is to contract the virus and give it to someone else. THAT IS NOT YOUR RIGHT!!!! Others HAVE THE RIGHT not to get it from you if you have contacted the virus.

    • I wish you the best of luck proving guilty in a court of law the exact person who infected you, LOL. (Oh yes, I am literally laughing out loud at the mental gymnast skills required to think then type your comment.)

It’s your life and it’s your responsibility to protect it, not anyone else’s.

You’re free to use your pacifier oops, I mean your mask, for the rest of your life. You’re free to buy a bubble or hazmat suit to venture out into the big scary world. You’re free to become a “shut-in” and just stay home. You’re free to leave this country, the greatest country the world has ever known btw, for the one that you think has handled the CCP Virus best.

Do you better understand how liberty works now? Yes/No

You do indeed have freedoms, endowed to us by our Creator, but your rights end the very instant you attempt to encroach upon my rights 🇺🇸💪😎.

  3. Just the sight of something like this happening in the United States should send cold chills down the spine.

  4. John, you will learn, you can’t have a conversation with ignorance, it’s a waste of time. These are the same people that stormed our Capitol! They are sick, a vaccine can’t help, pray that they one day they become enlightened, keep wearing your mask and safe distance yourself from ignorance.
