Johnston County Regional Park Public Meeting

JOHNSTON COUNTY – Johnston County Parks and Open Space will host a public meeting to share details about the upcoming master plan for the Johnston County Regional Park. The main purpose of this public meeting is to gain support for the 2023 Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) grant funding opportunity.

The funding will be used towards Phase 1 of the master plan and supports site preparation (clearing/grading), utilities (water, sewer, and electric), and three recreational facilities (fishing pond, pickleball courts, and basketball courts).

The public meeting will take place at the Cleveland Fire Department – Station 1 on April 19th, 2023 from 4:30PM to 6:30PM. Residents from around the county are encouraged to view the upcoming plans and provide support for the county department acquiring funding via PARTF.

In addition, the Johnston County Regional Park Master Plan process is complete. The Parks and Open Spaces department has gathered important data and input from residents around the county, which will be used to shape the 81-acre park plus the GCAA sports complex. Here, you can find PDFs containing in-depth analytical data that was produced by the online survey and the 2 community meetings that took place. Along with this data, you will find updates containing site drawings for both sites.

A presentation for adoption by the Board of Commissioners is slated for April 17th at 6:00PM. A final draft of the master plan will be available to the public after adoption by the Board Of Commissioners.
