Johnston Man Arrested For Meth Possession, Probation Violation

A former building contractor was arrested Sunday on felony narcotic possession charges.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said they were requested by NC Probation & Parole officers to respond to the home of Felton Glenn Thompson Jr., 41, in the 12000 block of Highway 96 North, Zebulon after they allegedly located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies said they seized hypodermic needles and a small bag containing approximately one gram of a substance believed to be suspected methamphetamine.

Thompson was charged with felony meth possession and three counts of felony probation violation. He was given an $10,000 bond on the drug charge and a $75,000 bond for probation violation.

According to the NC Department of Public Safety website, Thompson was convicted in February 2018 for breaking and entering, larceny and writing a worthless check. He received a suspended sentence and was placed on probation for 48 months.

In Jan. 2019, Thompson was convicted of obtaining property by false pretense. He received another suspected sentence and was placed on 12 months probation.
