Juveniles Linked To Car Thefts, Break-Ins, High Speed Chase

WILSON’S MILLS – Following a two week investigation, five juveniles linked to a string of vehicle larcenies and break-ins have been identified. Two juveniles have been charged with multiple felonies including larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and fleeing to elude arrest.

Wilson’s Mills Police Chief A.Z. Williams said between June 11th to June 18th, three motor vehicles were stolen and another two were broken into in the Johnston Farms and Clearwater Drive neighborhoods.

On June 18th, after one of the stolen vehicles was spotted, four juvenile suspects jumped and fled from a vehicle while the fifth suspect fled in a 2016 Jeep Wrangler, leading police officers on a high speed chase from Wilson’s Mills into Selma. The chase ended when the juvenile suspect crashing into a UPS delivery truck and fled on foot. There were no injuries reported.

Chief Williams said the juveniles range in age from 14 and 17 years old and are being processed in the juvenile court system.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Selma Police Department assisted in the investigation.

Additional charges are pending.

  2. It’s obvious these kids don’t know what a switch is! I don’t know what the world is wrong with kids and parents nowadays. Children need structure and guidance. They dag-gone sure don’t need to be running around trying to get something for nothing. Their parents should also be held accountable. I would have torn my kids up! 100
