The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that injured a Kenly man. It happened around 3:30am Sunday at 4135 Princeton-Kenly Road.
The victim, 31 year-old Tony Ray Godwin of the same address, was shot once in the leg. He was transported to the hospital for a serious but non-life threatening gunshot wound.
One person was arrested at the scene for causing a disturbance with deputies. Derrick Rasean Jackson, 26, of Carrboro was arrested for communicating threats and resisting a public officer. He was held under a $10,000 bond.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said the shooting remains under investigation.
