Kenly Woman Charged With Stabbing Victim With Scissors

A Kenly woman was arrested Thursday night after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the head with a pair of scissors.

The incident happened at a home on Moore Road.

Jennifer Rae Bass, 37, of Flower Hill Road, reportedly told Johnston County deputies the victim, 52 year-old Willard Alps Grice, had fallen and sustained a head injury. After speaking with the victim and a roommate authorities determined Bass had allegedly stabbed Grice causing the injuries.

Bass was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.  She was held without bond pending a first appearance in court on Monday.

Grice was treated and released from the hospital.
