A large amount of cocaine was seized during a traffic stop and later from a home in Johnston County. Cpiriano Alvear, 32, of Keith Court, Willow Spring was arrested May 15th by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.
Agents said they conducted an undercover operation that resulted in a traffic stop in the 5100 block of Highway 42 West near I-40. Inside the vehicle, officers reportedly found a kilo of cocaine, an additional 27 grams of crack cocaine, a large undisclosed amount of cash and a semi-automatic handgun.
Officers then conducted a search warrant at Alvear’s home and reportedly seized 200 grams of cocaine.
Alvear was charged with three counts of cocaine trafficking, one count of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and one count of possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver cocaine.
Alvear was confined on a $9,999,999 secured bond at the Johnston County Jail.
