A large quantity of methamphetamine was reportedly seized from a pickup during a routine traffic stop near Princeton.
Around 1:19am Friday, a Johnston County deputy stopped the vehicle in the 7100 block of Princeton-Kenly Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers reportedly saw a baggie containing a white substance in plain vehicle near the driver. The substance later field tested positive for methamphetamines. Altogether 27.8 grams of meth with a potential street value of $2,780 was seized.
The driver, identified as Glenn Thomas Shaw, 41, of Camden Place Street, Princeton was charged by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office with possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver methamphetamines, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Shaw was incarcerated in the Johnston County Jail under a $216,000 bond.
