A firefighter was recognized by the Clayton Town Council this week.

Clayton Deputy Fire Chief Jason Dean recently earned the highest award a North Carolina firefighter can achieve – the Firefighter’s Advanced Professional Certificate. Dean, the Chief of Operations and Training, is now among about 1 percent of North Carolina’s more than 50,000 firefighters who have earned the prestigious certificate.

Dean began serving his community in the 1990’s with Clayton Area Rescue and worked his way up the ranks of the Clayton Fire Department.    Jason Dean On Tower
