Lowes Shoplifting Suspect Arrested

Deputies have charged a Cumberland County man with larceny after he allegedly stole two window air conditioner units from Lowes Home Improvement on Cleveland Crossing Drive near the I-40 / NC42 interchange.

On August 6th, store personnel notified the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office the suspect placed two window air units on a cart and pushed the merchandise out the door and past the checkout counter without paying.  The units were valued at $350 each.

On August 11th, James Christopher Overbey, 29, of Fayetteville was arrested on a warrant for misdemeanor larceny.  He was also served with outstanding warrants for felony larceny and habitual larceny.  Bail was set at $60,000.
